Additional Information

Return to Play requires us to work within our Covid safe plan and ensure we are following Covid safe practices – Please work with our Covid Safe officials and follow the directions Cubs Seniors officials are Michelle Henderson and Kendra Fuller – This allows you the coaches and players to train however we may request people to assist with cleaning of equipment etc as required – One of us will be at every training session – Please work with us on this as it’s a requirement under the Qld Health guidelines that we follow the plan All committee, coaches, officials and volunteers are required to register and complete the online learning – Covid 19 Infection Control training – takes around 15 minutes -  All players are encouraged to complete as well - https://covid-19training.gov.au/login At this stage we can only have up to 20 participants in a zone – A baseball field allows for 3 zones – IF > 20 participants we will need to ensure the groups are seperated in zones Div 1 & 2 will follow the Cubs Baseball Club Covid Safe plan for Trinity Beach Grounds (This only applies to trainings – CBL will publish their own plan for game day)  WE will work on the GET IN – TRAIN – GET OUT principle 

  • Two hours prior to a scheduled training session you will receive a text message asking that if you have a sore throat, cough, shortness of breath or a fever then do not attend training – arrange to be tested and do not attend a training session until you have been cleared 
  • Arrive and park outside of the baseball grounds or be dropped off (Can continue to park between the baseball grounds and soccer fields)
  • You need to be ready to train before you enter the grounds (dressed and cleats on) 
  • Enter only via the double gates where you will need to register your attendance and confirm you are not experiencing any symptoms & sanitise your hands 
  • Head onto Diamond 1 via the first base dugout gate – Dug outs are out of bounds – please do not enter the dug out at any time 
  • Once you are on the field practice social distancing – Bring your own hand sanitised and use at intervals – we will supply some if you do not have any 
  • Once training is over leave the field via the 3rd base dugout gate – One way in and one way out to assist with social distancing in confined areas – Ensure you have sanitised your hands prior to leaving the grounds 
  • Leave the grounds via the double gates 
  • Limited access to toilets and equipment storage areas 

Remember If you experience symptoms or feel unwell during training please advise your coach or your Club Covid safety official IMMEDIATELY – You will be isolated and required to leave the grounds and be tested  Div 3 will follow the Covid Safe plan for Bear Park (Brinsmead junior training grounds, see below) Any div 3 player that trains at Trinity Beach with Div 1 & 2 refer to plan above and attached map.

Approvals

The club must obtain the following approvals to allow a return to training at Level B:

·  State/Territory Government approval of the resumption of community sport.

·  Relaxation of public gathering restrictions to enable training to occur.

·  Local government/venue owner approval to training at venue, if required.

·  National/state sporting body/local association approval of return to training for community sport.

·  Club committee has approved return to training for club.

·  Insurance arrangements confirmed to cover training.

·  National/state sporting body/local association approval to return to training/competition for community sport.

Training Processes

·  Training for Juniors will commence the 25th of June 2020 and occur once a week – Thursday for all teams, 4.30pm-6.30pm. 

·   Training for Div. 1 and 2 Seniors will commence Saturday the 20th of June 2020 at 3.00pm, Trinity Beach.  Div. 3 senior Tuesday 16th June 2020 at 5.15pm Loridan Reserve.

·  Juniors and Div. 3 Senior teams will arrive via the carpark, be ready to play with gear ready and leave straight away after training.  Upon entering for training players will enter down the footpath side of the clubhouse, (see site map)  register your attendance and answer the questions confirming you are not experiencing any of the Covid-19 symptoms, sanitize hands using on-site equipment at the sanitizing station and then commence training.  When training is finished, they will exit via the fitness equipment and sanitize hands on leaving.

·  Seniors:  Div. 1 and 2 teams:  Arrive and park outside of the baseball grounds or be dropped off (can continue to park between the baseball grounds and soccer fields).  You will need to be ready to train before you enter the grounds (dressed and cleats on). Teams enter only via the double gates where you will need to register your attendance and confirm you are not experiencing and symptoms and sanitise your hands.  You will need to then head onto the Diamond 1 via the first base dugout gate -DUG OUTS are out of bounds.  Once you are on the field practice social distancing.  Once the training is over leave the field via the 3rd base dugout gate, ensure you have sanitised your hands prior to leaving the grounds.

·  One parent only per child, no grandparents and parents/careers encouraged to bring own chair and sit 1.5 m apart via email correspondence

·  Training will occur in defined areas outlined using cones.  Baseball equipment will only be retrieved by coaches and their helper and placed in the area training will occur.

·  No players to enter the clubhouse or undercover area straight outside the clubhouse.

·  Players to bring their own water bottles and to have enough water to last the length of the training session.

·  No contact between players, including high fives or shaking hands.

·  Baseball equipment such as bats to be wiped down in between players.  Where possible players to use their own gloves and helmet’s, if these need to be shared wipes to clean in between players using equipment.

·  Training register to be kept and filled in by Covid co-ordinator and/or coaches.

·  Coaches to discuss appropriate hygiene messages with all players including: no spitting or coughing, respect 1.5 distancing, wash hands with soap BEFORE coming to training, bring own personal hand sanitizer if able to.

At this stage training will occur in groups of 20 or less (per zone), zones will be defined by the use of cones, maintaining requirement of 4 square metres per person (base density) requirements and physical distancing.

·  Personal hygiene encouraged (e.g. wash hands prior to training, no spitting or coughing)

·  Email sent to all players reminding them not to attend training if they are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms.  If at training and you start to feel unwell, please notify your coach IMMEDIATELY and you will be taken to the isolation station (see site map) and asked to go home and to the G.P.

·  AIS Framework principles – full sporting activity that can be conducted in groups of any size (subject to COVIDSafe Roadmap) including full contact.

·  For larger team sports, consider maintaining some small group separation at training.

·  Limit unnecessary social gatherings.

·  Clearly outline nature of training permitted. 

·  Access to treatment from support staff.

·  Sanitising requirements continue from Level B.

·  Treatment of shared equipment continues from Level B.

·  Personal hygiene encouraged (e.g. wash hands prior to training, no spitting or coughing).

·  Training/playing attendance register kept].

Personal health

·  Graded return to sport to avoid injury.  Return to throw for 2 weeks.  Pitcher preparation for 4 weeks, undertake body ready activities to prevent injury.

·  Email sent to advise all players, coaches, volunteers to not attend if unwell (including any signs/symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19 or other illness).

·  Washing of hands prior to, during and after training and use of hand sanitiser where available (see site map for sanitising stations).

·  Avoid physical greetings (i.e. hand shaking, high fives etc.).

·  Avoid coughing, clearing nose, spitting etc.

·  Players to bring own water bottles and not share these, enough to last the length of the training session.

Hygiene

·  Any safe hygiene protocols distributed by national/state sporting body or local association that will be adopted by club.

·  Cleaning checklist to be used following each session.

Communications

·  Cubs will notify players, coaches, members, volunteers and families the Return to Play plan, including details covered in our Covid safety plan by Facebook, email and text messages.  This correspondence will reinforce hand washing and general hygiene etiquette. Posters will be placed around the grounds and facilities reinforcing these Covide safe practices. 

·  Communication will encourage our community to download the Queensland Government COVID safe app and use.

·  Players who are experiencing poor mental health can access referral services via our Covid Co-ordinator if needed.

·  How Club will brief players, coaches, members, volunteers and families on Level C protocols including hygiene protocols (e.g. letter, email, text/WhatsApp message, Facebook post) and reinforcement of hand washing and general hygiene etiquette.

·  Continued endorsement of government COVIDSafe app and encouragement to players, coaches, members, volunteers and families to download and use app.

·  How individuals can access mental health and wellbeing counselling services].

What You Need To Know (Covid Safe)  

  1. Covid safe App – All people in attendance at a Baseball Activity/Facility  are encouraged to download and use the Governments Covid Safe App
  2. Be prepared to provide your contact details to train or play or as someone accompanying a junior player – The club are required to maintain attendance records in the event someone tests positive for Covid 19
  3. Before you attend a training session consider the following. You must stay at home if you:
  4. Have been in contact or exposed to someone with Covid 19 in the last 14 days
  5. Have been overseas in the last 14 days
  6. Have flu like symptoms (sore throat, fever, cough, shortness of breath) 
  7. Also consider if you are in a high risk health category
  8. Attending Activities
  9. Only persons integral to training should only attend (e.g. players, coaches, operational personnel).
  10. Only one parent/guardian should accompany juniors where possible
  11. Arrive and leave as close as possible to when you need to be there
  12. Arrive dressed ready to train
  13. Minimise use of bathrooms and communal areas
  14. Notify your coach or the Covid Safety Office immediately if you feel you are becoming unwell 
  15. Social Distancing
  16. Do not shake hands before or after activities
  17. Do not high-5 or celebrate closely together
  18. No team huddles before or post activities
  19. Keep 1.5 meters away from other people while watching or attending a venue while not participating
  20. To protect against infection, you should 
  21. Wash/sterilise your hands before and after you participate and avoid touching your face while playing
  22. Not share water bottles and bring your own full bottle
  23. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or hand-sanitiser when available, before and after eating, after going to the toilet, sneezing and coughing
  24. Cover your coughs and sneezes and dispose of any used tissue immediately
  25. Avoid touching your face
  26. Keep your distance from people who are obviously sick g. Be aware of what surfaces you touch and ensure surfaces such as gate latches, bats, toilets are cleaned between activities
  27. Equipment There is no specific evidence that balls can spread COVID-19. It is known that on hard surfaces contamination by respiratory droplets from an infected person can potentially survive up to three days. Therefore, you should: 
  28. Clean hands at regular intervals
  29. Clean all equipment used and minimise the number of people that touch things like marker cones etc.
  30. Not share drink bottles and towels
  31. Not sharing of mats, or equipment without an appropriate cleaning protocol, in between training sessions
  32. Umpires/Catchers who have to share face masks to consider purchasing own equipment or cover padding inside
    face masks with cling wrap that is replaced and sanitised between uses.
  33. Using your own equipment exclusively (Do not share)
